Privacy policy
Last updated October 19, 2026 · Applies to the Bookit Boy app (Android, iOS/iPad and web) and bookitboy.com
The short version. Everything you put into Bookit Boy is saved on your own device. If you choose to sign in to cloud backup and sync, a copy of your records is kept in your own account so your phone and iPad stay the same; otherwise nothing is stored anywhere but your device. We do not sell or share your data, and we never look at it. Data leaves your device only when you choose to share something, make a backup or turn on cloud sync.
Who we are
Bookit Boy is made by MultiMediaVerse LLC ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy go to hello@bookitboy.com.
What the app stores, and where
Bookit Boy is a business tool. What you type or photograph into it is stored in a database on the device you are using, inside the app's own private storage (in the browser version, inside your browser's storage for bookitboy.com). This includes:
- Your business details: name, address, phone, email, logo, payment instructions, notes and terms you print on documents.
- Customers and job sites: names, phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, gate or lockbox codes and site notes you enter.
- Estimates, invoices, payments, statements and the PDFs made from them.
- Jobs, schedules, checklists, work orders, crew members and hours worked.
- Expenses, receipts, mileage trips and the price book.
- Photos you take or choose, the text the app reads from them, voice notes you record, and text you type or share into BB Task.
- An optional app-lock PIN, stored only as a salted hash that cannot be turned back into the PIN.
None of this is sent to us. The app has no account, no sign-in and no analytics.
How BB Task reads your photos
When you give BB Task a photo, the text is read on the device using the phone's own on-device text recognition. The photo and the text it contains do not leave the phone. In the browser version, photos are not read at all; they are only filed.
Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | To photograph receipts, job sites and business cards. |
| Photos | To file photos you choose into expenses and jobs, and to pick a logo. |
| Microphone | To record voice notes for BB Task. Audio stays on the device. |
| Fingerprint or face unlock | Only if you turn on the app lock. The app never sees your fingerprint or face; the phone only tells it "unlocked". |
| Internet | Used only when you send a document or open a link. The app does not talk to our servers because we have none. |
You can refuse any permission. The matching feature will not work, and the rest of the app will.
When data leaves your device
Only when you ask it to:
- Sharing a document. Sending an estimate, invoice, statement, reminder or tax pack opens your phone's own share sheet, Messages app or email app. Whatever you send then travels through that app and its provider, under their privacy policy, exactly as if you had sent the file yourself.
- Call, text, email, navigate. These buttons hand the number or address to the phone app, messaging app, email app or maps app you choose.
- Cloud backup and sync (optional, off until you sign in). Under More › Cloud backup and sync you can sign in with your email address and a one-time code. From then on your records and business settings (customers, estimates, invoices, jobs, expenses, mileage and the rest) are copied to your account, encrypted in transit and at rest, on servers run for us by Supabase in the United States, so every device signed in to that account shows the same thing. Photos, your PIN and this device's preferences are not sent. Only your account can read its records. Signing out stops it and keeps everything on the device; Delete my cloud account on the same screen erases the account and everything in it.
- Backups. "Back up now" produces one file of everything the app stores, in plain JSON. It goes wherever you send it (your cloud drive, email, a computer). Treat that file as you would the app itself: it contains your customers' details. The tax pack and CSV exports work the same way.
On Android the system's automatic app backup is turned off for Bookit Boy, so the database is not uploaded to your Google account in the background. If you reinstall the app without a backup file, the data is gone.
What we collect
Nothing from the app unless you turn on cloud sync, which keeps your email address and the records described above in your account. The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code that reports to us. If we add crash reporting in a future version, it will be opt-in, it will not include the contents of your records, and this policy will say so.
If you email us, we keep the email so we can answer you.
This website
bookitboy.com is a static site. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics scripts. Our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and to keep the site running.
Children
Bookit Boy is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your customers' data
You are responsible for the customer information you enter, in the same way you are responsible for a paper file or a spreadsheet. Bookit Boy gives you an app lock, keeps automatic cloud backup off until you sign in, and never sends the data anywhere you did not choose.
Deleting your data
Data on your device you delete yourself: uninstall the app (or clear the site's data in your browser) and any backup files you made. If you signed in to cloud sync, tap More › Cloud backup and sync › Delete my cloud account, which erases the account and every record in it at once, or email us and we will do it. Step-by-step instructions are on the Delete your data page.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app sends anything new anywhere, we will update this policy before that version ships, say plainly what is sent and where, and make the feature opt-in, as cloud sync is.
